In 1987 I founded B.M.I.P. (Bill McCready Interior Planning).
My passion for furniture design has developed through a
career ranging from Architecture, Graphic, Fashion, Interiors and
Industrial Design. All my training has been with top quality materials
and expertise. Market trips to San Francisco, High Point,
New York, Las Vegas, Dallas, Copenhagen and London have
sharpened my attention to detail.

BACKGROUND

Mr. Bags first became aware of dampening vibration and its effects
while studying architecture in high school and during a
13,000 mile tour through Europe on a British made BSA Lightening
Rocket motorcycle, vibration will take its toll
no matter what the situation.

Upon returning to California and while attending art school in
Los Angeles, Bags realized how important it was to deaden
vibrations in the area of audio sounds. Renting a small apartment
behind the Greyhound bus station in Santa Monica,
Bags hooked up his Gerard turntable to a large Marshall guitar
amplifier in lieu of speakers for his audio system.
Listening to music at high levels would cause the stucco walls
of the old apartment building to vibrate and the lows to carry
across the alleyway to the bus garage. Mechanics at the garage
would throw wrenches against the side of the building
causing vibrations of their own. Getting the message
Bags unhooked the Marshall amplifiers and left town.

Moving to a small town in the Rocky Mountains outside
Boulder Colorado, Bags was employed by Head Ski as a lab
technician researching and developing lighter, faster skis and dampening overall vibration. Winters in the Rockies prompted Bags to head
south to Guatemala for a change in weather and a reality check.

Time to get serious and start a career. Bill "Mr. Bags"
settles in Santa Barbara and goes to work for interior design
companies eventually becoming a buyer of domestic and imported
furniture which takes him back to Europe.

Now intent on combining his artistic talents and architectural skills
to create his own designs, Mr. Bags steps into the world of
entrepreneurship. With a family interest in chassis construction/auto
racing plus Bill's architectural and artistic background
the foundation is solid. Starting with a chair and ottoman
"Billy Bags Design" is coined. Along with this original chair design,
Audio/Video furniture by Billy Bags is introduced.

These days you can find Mr. Bags almost any workday of the
week either designing a custom system in the office at the factory or
perhaps checking out the surf on the way back home to Santa Barbara
in the Billy Bags Turbo Super Bug.
